As president and creative muse of Consciousness Arts, I am thrilled with the service we've received from Julie Berry of Rivendell Communications. She is lightening fast, insightful, and completely dedicated. We are a small company and must choose carefully where to invest our resources, and I can honestly say Julie's expertise has been worth every penny.
As we had little in the way of press material, Julie first worked to develop a media kit that is well-designed and packed with pertinent information. We sell both products (Bliss Trips guided meditation CDs) and services (I am a Certified Hypnotherapist and Wellness Consultant), and Julie has helped us to strategize various approaches to our target markets and to fine tune those tactics as we've gone along. She is most definitely a team player, and is open to input and suggestions, yet can run with the ball during those occasions when I'm otherwise engaged. I have never seen her with anything but the most positive attitude. This coupled with a tenacious spirit makes her the epitome of a "go getter," and we have been thrilled to see our media coverage rising exponentially.
Julie is an excellent "coach," helping us to learn the ins and outs of representing our product in interviews. She has insightfully critiqued articles we've written - and then gotten them placed! Julie also has the utmost integrity; while I know she has other clients I always feel as if she gives our account everything we are paying for and much more. She is passionate about the products she represents, and I believe her enthusiasm is responsible for getting our Bliss Trips CDs, formerly a niche market product, to the world at large. I encourage anyone with an interesting product, service, or company who is looking for a creative and seemingly inexhaustible resource to contact Julie. I suspect she will work wonders for you as well!
Sincerely,
Kerstin Sjoquist

Dear Julie:
As we near the end of the year, I'd like to take a moment to recognize you and Rivendell Communications' hard work and creative efforts on behalf of Flat Top Grill.
You have been a pleasure to work with this year. The continuous media coverage--both large and small--has been a testimony to your diligence in serving Flat Top's needs. Your diligence is exemplified by your "on call"status. You have been available to me and to other members of the Flat Top team without reserve.
The team has appreciated your creativity in pitching the concept, in matching press queries to special interest inside Flat Top and also your writing skill.
This year-end thank you would not be complete without special recognition of Rivendell Communications' efforts to promote Flat Top Grill as we opened our new stores in Omaha, Nebraska and in Peoria, Illinois. I am delighted how you were able to generate the hometown press and the celebrity endorsements needed to open our stores with "WOW."
Julie, I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend Rivendell Communications and you can feel free to use this thank you as a testimonial for any businesses interested in your services.
A very Happy New Year to you and your team at Rivendell Communications and many thanks for a job well done!
Sincerely,
Mary Pat Knight

My name is Casey Cooper and I am Co-Principal of Botanicals, Inc., an event design firm in the heart of Chicago. As Botanicals excitedly approaches its tenth anniversary this February, we are compelled to look back over the last ten years and see how the heck we got here. It has been an astonishing and often grueling journey. There are many memories, moments, and milestones that evidently played an enormous role in our company's journey to this landmark anniversary. There are choices we look back on and say, 'Aha, that was brilliant! That was a choice that enabled us to grow, expand, and succeed to this point.' Julie Berry of Rivendell Communications is one of those choices.
We began working with Julie three years ago. She joined us during a crucial and transformative period. We were redefining the Botanicals image, we were repositioning ourselves in the marketplace, and we were in the process of moving to a new, much larger, much more visible, and much more expensive location. It was a leap of faith to take on the additional expense of hiring a public relations firm. What exactly would Rivendell Communications do for us? We weren't entirely sure. But, with close to a dozen television appearances under our belt, countless local and national publications to boast of, and a veritable plethora of online articles appearing all over the country, we now understand. Julie Berry has worked closely with Botanicals to develop and expand the Botanicals Brand. She has introduced our brand to clients all over the country. Julie has urged, nudged, pushed, and encouraged us to continue to grow our business in ways we never even imagined.
Julie is a consummate professional. She is organized, deadline driven, completely creative, and endlessly imaginative. At Botanicals, we find it so energizing to be working with Julie, knowing she thinks about our business constantly. Julie is forever coming up with new ideas, new concepts, and new ways of looking at things we consider old hat. She is incredibly well connected and respected throughout her industry.
Julie gets to know you and your company. She represents you and your business. This often takes a great deal of work on your part. There are times where I might be doing two to three interviews a week, writing a column, doing an in-house photo shoot of our product and going down to ABC at 4:00am. But, the work is worth it. It certainly beats cold calling. I will also add, we haven't paid a dime for advertising since Julie Berry joined Botanicals. I'm a believer.
Sincerely,
Casey Cooper

This letter is written both as a letter of reference for Julie Berry as an individual as well as a principal with Rivendell Communications.
Artistic Confections began its professional relationship with Julie Berry while she was contemplating the launch of Rivendell Communications during the summer of 2001. When we first met Julie, she was marketing director for the Tiffani Kim Institute in Chicago. Julie coordinated the hosting of a Women in Catering event on behalf of TKI and we were impressed with her organizational skills, professional presence and creative energy. At the time, Artistic Confections was Chicago's best kept secret--a virtually unknown, yet upscale wedding cake design firm. I asked Julie for her advice for getting press, exposure and business referrals in an industry driven by close-knit relationships.
Julie told us she was planning on starting her own Public Relations and Communications firm and agreed to work with us as her first client once she left TKI. Julie developed a plan within our limited budget. In the course of the first year, Julie delivered 100% of the plan by giving 150%. Artistic Confections was got press placements in several local magazines, newspapers and television. My goal was to get a cake on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Julie was successful in achieving that goal, as well. Artistic Confections owes its public image and marketplace presence in large part to Julie Berry's strategic planning and tenacious persistence. From our website, press kit and customized collateral marketing materials, Rivendell Communications has been responsible.
We will continue to engage Julie Berry and Rivendell Communications as our strategic partner for public relations, in addition to providing ongoing referrals for her.
Best regards,
Jane LeClair

I interviewed six PR specialists for help in promoting my new book. The first five I contacted were PR companies and individuals who specialized in promoting books for fellow professional speakers. Although their credentials were impressive, I decided that I wanted a fresh approach. I didn't want to hire the same people that every other speaker used.
The sixth person I interviewed was Julie Berry of Rivendell Communications. When I first met her, I was instantly impressed by her youthful enthusiasm and energy. I knew that if Julie put that energy into promoting my book, and me I had found the right person.
I was right. I learned that Julie is smart, a hard worker, and totally focused on making me look good. Her creative energy seems to have no end. She has tweaked my topic in ways I never thought of, helping to appeal to what the media wants and needs. She is a delight to work with, and the media professionals really love working with her too.
In Julie I found the perfect advocate for me, as well as a great business partner and friend.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Perlitz

Soothe Your Senses is a line of aromatherapy and spa products that were launched in the last quarter of 2003 and we have enjoyed tremendous success. Our company was seeing a steady growth of business primarily by participating in trade shows. A customer of mine recommended Julie to us and I met with her for an informational meeting. We were a small company and I was weighing all of our options due to our restricted budget constraints. After meeting with Julie and discussing the plans for Soothe Your Senses, I knew she was going to be a valuable asset to our company. She has proven to be just that in a very short period of time. In the first six months of working with Julie, our products have been featured in four national magazine, two regional magazines, two television spots, and numerous ezines, newspapers, and local news.
Her drive and enthusiasm for our products and growth has helped me, as a company leader, to remain focused and driven in consistent brand awareness for our company. Her contacts are invaluable; her ability to make a story out of simple twists is unbelievable; and her commitment to the overall goals is unstoppable. Working with Julie have been some of the best budget dollars spent. Soothe Your Senses has benefited greatly from our time with Rivendell Communications. I would highly recommend Julie--hands down.
Sincerely,
Gretchen Halpin

I can think of very few people I've worked with who I can recommend with such unequivocal enthusiasm as Julie Berry of Rivendell Communications. In a very short year, she really catapulted my business to another level. Julie's professional demeanor, good humor and style is genuine. She is a master wordsmith, a great idea person (especially on my small budget) and works the Press at every angle possible without being a pushy publicist. In fact, during many interviews with the Press, they always gave her kind compliments and high praise.
Without her assistance, there was no possible way for me to have captured the attention of The Press like she did. Within months, the "buzz" was out about my business and we received phenomenal placements. My decision to reduce my traditional print advertising budget and put it into PR paid off. There's no doubt that PR showed more positive and measurable results.
I know that Julie loves what she does and it shows. So, if you're looking for a professional publicist that works hard on your behalf and is extremely results driven, I would definitely hire her.
Sincerely,
